One of the closest living relatives of George Washington, with his fourth great-grandfather Bushrod Washington serving as an associate justice on the US Supreme Court, Craig Fontaine Ashton spent his formative years in the San Francisco Bay Area, attending Serra High School (Barry Bonds a year behind), and then graduating with a BA in history from UC Berkeley, and a Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law.
